Friday Finds 12-16-16

Every year, my family watches “It’s a Wonderful Life” together. This year, my kids watched with their feet propped up by the fire. They make me laugh. What are some of your family traditions?

I don’t know about you, but I love this season. But I don’t always love taking Christmas card pictures. Here’s an out take of our “session” this year.

Mind you, this was right after I told my oldest son I was ready to kill his dog. Yes, I really did. #parentingfail

Friday Finds 12-2-16

I love December. While it may not be cold enough in Texas for nightly fires, I am enjoying the Christmas tree my family put up this last weekend. I hope that as you enter the hustle of the holiday season, you take time to reflect the birth of our Heavenly Father.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6-7

Here’s a few articles that I’ve found interesting lately…

We’re at the Gulf Shores this week enjoying time on the beach with our good friends. It’s been a great vacation with our big crew and there is never a dull moment with our combined 10 kids. As we soak up the last of summer, I’m reminded that Fall is just around the corner, which means, I’ll be listening to Christmas music in less than a month…screen-shot-2016-09-08-at-2-10-54-pm

School started this week which means a lot has changed around the East household. We sent our youngest to Kindergarten, which means we have all 5 of our kids at the same elementary school! It’s a fun new season we have entered, full of new joys and challenges. We wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Friday Finds 3-25-16

It’s the morning of Good Friday. This morning, I hope as you sip your cup of coffee you reflect on this powerful day:

“Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of wine vinegar was there so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and put it to Jesus’ lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”  -John 19:28-30

It is finished. The debt has been paid. Celebrate the resurrection of our Lord on Sunday. He is risen! But today let’s remember the painful death he paid for you and me just 3 days before.

Here’s a few interesting articles I stumbled upon this week. Enjoy.
