Kevin is the President of The Mentoring Alliance, a Christ-centered, intentionally multiethnic ministry that seeks to address the foundational issue that wreaks havoc on communities: the breakdown of the family. He and his wife, Stephanie, have 5 kids and actively foster and mentor kids as well.

Short Bio

Kevin loves to see people enjoying the grace of God and living out His mission on this earth. He is the President of The Mentoring Alliance, a Christ-centered, intentionally multiethnic ministry that seeks to address the foundational issue that wreaks havoc on communities: the breakdown of the family. They do this by mobilizing godly people into the lives of kids and families, to provide tangible help and eternal hope.

As part of the speaker team for Family Matters, Kevin speaks at events across the country. On his blog, “Following to Lead,” he writes articles on how following Jesus impacts the way people lead their families and others. He and his wife, Stephanie, have 5 kids, two of which came into his family through fostering and adoption. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University, and is currently completing his Master of Arts in Global Leadership through Fuller Seminary.

Long Bio

Kevin East comes from an extensive background of ministry strategy, staff leadership, and community engagement. He and his wife, Stephanie, have called Tyler, Texas home for almost 20 years. During many of those years he was the Executive Director of Ministries at Pine Cove, overseeing all the camps and ministries of Pine Cove.

Kevin is now the President of The Mentoring Alliance, a Christ-centered, intentionally multiethnic ministry that seeks to address the foundational issue that wreaks havoc on communities: the breakdown of the family. They do this by mobilizing godly people into the lives of kids and families, to provide tangible help and eternal hope.

Kevin is a dynamic communicator, having spoken at various events on issues about biblical truth and godly parenting. He is currently on the speaker team of Family Matters, and speaks at events each year on Grace Based Parenting.

Kevin and his wife, Stephanie, are the proud parents of five young children. Two of them began as foster children, but God allowed them the great opportunity to adopt them in the fall of 2012. Stephanie and Kevin share a strong passion families living out the mission of God. They’ve done this through fostering and mentoring children, opening their home to those who’ve needed a safe place full of godly love, security and healing.

Kevin is a graduate of Louisiana State University and is currently completing his Master of Arts in Global Leadership through Fuller Seminary. He is currently an active member and elder at Bethel Bible Church in Tyler, Texas.

His blog, “FOLLOWING TO LEAD” is a platform he uses to provide young leaders and young parents with intensely practical biblical instruction. He writes a lot about how our relationship with Christ impacts our families and our leadership capabilities. His posts are broken into four main categories: following, leading, family and fostering.
