We live in a world of a thousand choices. Like a child in line at the snack shop frozen by the myriad of options in front of him, so are many Christians today – who stand wondering, “What is God’s will for my life?” Their life is on pause as they wait to know what they should do with their life. It doesn’t have to be this way.
It doesn’t feel good to be called out. In fact, it can be downright offensive. But for those who have the humility – as well as the courage – to examine their hearts, it can be transformative. I know. It has been for me.
Being a leader in a ministry is tough. For me, it’s not that the hours are longer, the work is harder, or the pay is less. Those things are common with many jobs. Leading a ministry is tough because I believe it is hard to measure success.
There are some authors that when they write, I listen. Henri Nouwen is one of those for me. As a follower of Christ, I am always looking to become more effective as a christian leader. When I come across something really good, I want to pass it on. This is one of those times.
